Give now. Give back. Make an impact.

On Tuesday 27 November 2018, Melbourne Recital Centre is taking part in the global giving movement, #GivingTuesday. On #GivingTuesday, we will be donating transaction fees to the Share the Music fund for 24 hours and is calling on our community of music-lovers, like yourself, to match it and more.

Share the Music 'Meet the Instruments' workshop

How can you get involved?

Planning on purchasing tickets to a concert at the Centre?
Make a transaction on Tuesday 27 November and match our donation online, over the phone or in-person.
Friend-raise!  Tell your friends about #GivingTuesday and get them involved too.
Not purchasing a ticket? You can still make a donation. You can donate online, over the phone or in-person to Share the Music and celebrate #GivingTuesday by giving back to the community.
Are you part of a business wanting to get involved in #GivingTuesday? We’re also registered on Good2Give - a workplace giving platform for businesses and donors. Search for ‘Melbourne Recital Centre’ under Arts & Culture Causes and donate to the Centre here

Why should you get involved?

A thank you letter from our participants
Because you will enrich the lives of disadvantaged communities, by sharing your love of music with them.
Donors to Share the Music help to foster a love and understanding of music for Victorians with barriers to attending live music at the Centre. Share the Music donors not only allow us to share top quality performances with over 2000 disadvantaged children and adults each year who would otherwise miss out, they also help to bring to life a wide range of enriching music education activities for all ages. Your support will allow more people to experience the transformative power of live music and help ensure that Melbourne has a vibrant music-loving community well into the future.

I give because…

Lowina Blackman
Melbourne Recital Centre’s Stage Door Attendant Lowina is not only a music-lover, she also cares about her community and the Centre's place within it:
'I give because I would like to help Melbourne Recital Centre maintain the highest standard of live music. Share the Music is my favourite program, it brings music to people and brightens up their day, I contribute to this meaningful program to spread the love!'
And our Learning & Access Coordinator Belinda shares the joy she sees and feels when working with groups from diverse communities as part of Share the Music in this video.
