Performer Support Fund Target Extended
Thanks to the generosity from audiences and patrons, the Performer Support Fund has been providing crucial financial assistance to our community of local artists whose performances are directly affected by our period of closure.

We have been overwhelmed by the generous support of music-lovers donating the value of their ticket refunds and more. Our sincere thanks to those who have already contributed to support our local musicians.
“This is such a devastating time, and I am so appreciative of Melbourne Recital Centre’s unparalleled support of our fragile community” – Blair Harris, cellist
“A tough time for countless individuals, industries and businesses so we are very grateful that Melbourne Recital Centre has been able to offer co=presenters this payment, thanks to the Performer Support Fund” – Melbourne Guitar Quartet
Now we are looking towards our future reopening and at the sustained support that will be needed as our local community of artists get back on their feet.
We recently launched a social media campaign to encourage further contributions in order to deepen the impact of the Performer Support Fund.
Some of our well-known local artists have joined us for this campaign, to help inspire more people through their music and by sharing their personal experiences. You can see some of these short videos below.
We have been overwhelmed by the public response and are thrilled to share that we have now raised over $89,000 towards our extended target of $100,000 by June 30.
Further donations are allowing us to provide crucial financial assistance to even more artists in our community, create employment opportunities for artists by helping us to take some the Centre’s programs online, and enable the continued programming and support of local musicians once the Centre reopens.
If you would like to donate and support local artists during the remainder of the closure period and as we reopen, please click here, or call Alistaire Bowler, Interim Head of Development on (03) 9207 2653.
