Learning & Access Update
May saw an Accelerando Workshop, Song Play with Vision Australia for Term 2, our first in-person Sound Vibrations workshop for the year and the second Relaxed Performance recording for 2021.
To tell us why ‘Music Production Matters’, mixer, mastering engineer & music producer Simon Moro joined the Accelerando musicians in May, to show them the process of taking a track from demo to release.
Many were inspired to go home and create a simple studio set-up, or tweak their current one.

Term 2 of Song Play with Vision Australia kicked off in early May with two Thursday morning classes. The first on Zoom, and the second at Vision Australia in Kooyong.
We are delighted to have Clare Zabrowarny taking both sessions each week and for the littlies to have the chance to finally meet.
The Term will run for 6 weeks.

In preparation for their June Music Always tour, which will be a combination of live Aged Care performances, and digital broadcasts with Zoom Q&A appearances, Quartz recorded a beautiful concert of music in Primrose Potter Salon.
It included a mix of well-loved string quartet classics and some lively numbers to get the toes tapping.

We were very excited to finally welcome students from the Victorian College for the Deaf (VCD) in May for the first Sound Vibrations workshop.
This program, in partnership with Deaf Children Australia and ANAM, welcomed a wonderful string quartet to Primrose Potter Salon who helped to lead the VCD students through creating and playing their very own musical composition.

In late May, Affinity Quartet travelled up to the foothills of the Victorian Alps, to provide Mansfield Steiner School with a Regional Master Class.
Not only did they work with the Year 7 & 8 string students during their performance class, but they also provided feedback for the Class 6 orchestra who are about to head off on tour.

May saw the second recording session for our Relaxed Performance series in 2021.
