Young Artists

9 Accelerando musicians performed in their end of year concert.

On Saturday 7 December, the 2019 Accelerando musicians had their end-of-year concert in the Primrose Potter Salon. A huge congratulations to Chen Li piano, Tess Hickey cello, Jamila Jalloh voice, Edmond Kennedy drums, Thomas Poynton tenor sax, Harper Dawson alto sax, Ashwin Krishna tabla and Notis Karidakis bouzouki and Claudia McFarlane clarinet for a wonderful performance and completing their year in the program.

'Congratulations! What a fabulous night it was! It was great to see such a variety of students, instruments and musical styles. It made for a really interesting program. What was really clear was the difference the program has made to the confidence of the students involved. Those that have been with the program two - three years looked really comfortable up there, which shows what an impact you're having.

They're so lucky to have the opportunity to perform at MRC and enjoy all the other benefits of the program. Tess got to see Jacob Collier this year and it blew her mind! The Recital Centre concerts offer such diversity - great to see that the world is being reflected in what's on offer! Please convey my thanks to all involved in the program.'
