Working to realise the limitless potential for musicians to move, inspire and educate.
Sharing music with those who for many reasons find it difficult to attend Melbourne Recital Centre is an increasingly important part of the Centre’s strategy. To do this we are partnering with regional Victorian presenters to enable superb musicians to be heard in live performance across the state and ensure regionally-based audiences are also part of our extended community of music lovers. Establishing a digital concert hall that enables the Centre’s music to be streamed, heard and appreciated by an increasingly global audience is also a priority.
Melbourne Recital Centre and its music can lead the way in innovative forms of outreach like digital broadcast that will reshape how our community and its musicians come together to share and be inspired by music. The Centre’s digital recordings, webcasts and new performance opportunities will offer an infinite capacity to engage all people in the life-enhancing benefits of music that mean so much to me.
